Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province announced 10 measures aimed at accelerating the recovery of the cultural and tourism industries in Yiwu, according to the local cultural and tourism bureau on Feb 6.

The measures include the introduction of a series of activities to celebrate various festivals, the development of group travel activities by travel agencies, and the promotion of tourism through multiple channels. One of the measures includes a series of activities for Chinese New Year, such as offering free admission to some scenic spots and organizing a couple of cultural and tourism markets.

Yiwu is also taking steps to promote its cultural heritage, with a minimum of 10 activities to be held to showcase the city's intangible culture heritage items and historical sites and performances.

The city plans to promote tourism through multiple channels and offer specialized consumption coupons for the cultural and tourism industries. In addition, the city aims to quickly develop key tourist attractions such as the Yiwu International Commodities Markets and Fotang Ancient Town.

It will also host music festivals and cultural and tourism fairs as part of its efforts to create tourism consumption brands.

The 17th Yiwu Cultural and Tourism Product Trade Fair aims to showcase the integration of culture and tourism with other industries. It is expected to receive more than 30,000 domestic and international buyers and visitors and over 100 million online visits.

In addition, the city will organize at least 20 sporting events in the first quarter of the year.
