Go on a tour of Yiwu

Yiwu, a county-level city in Jinhua, East China's Zheijang province, is among the tourist attractions along one of the travel routes in Zhejiang recently launched by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The travel route starts from the Yiwu International Trade Market and ends in Xiaoshun town of Jindong district. Tourists are encouraged to tour the route from December to March.

Recommended homestays and festivals along the route:

Bishui Homestay features a scenic pond and courtyard and offers catering, fishing, water activities, and an agriculture-themed tour.

Baixiwan Homestay is located along a river and built in the style of Jiangnan dwellings. In addition to accommodation and entertainment, the homestay provides services for business meetings.

Surrounded by lake and bamboo forest, the Yiwu Xinai Homestay boasts idyllic scenery and fresh air and is great for family gatherings.

Yinghua Festival, or Welcoming Flower Festival, is held on the eleventh day of the first lunar month, when locals offer sacrifices to the Mother of Flowers and scramble for flower trees made of colorful papers to expel evil spirits and pray for a good year.

Recommended delicacies along the route:

Donghe cutlets, steamed distillers' grains and walnut kernels, Yiwu hand-pulled noodles, Fucun pastries, tofu buns, Jinnian ham, and Xiaoshun lotus roots.
