Quzhou included in national IP program

Quzhou in Zhejiang province has recently been selected to participate in a national initiative aimed at fostering cities that are highly competitive in the realm of intellectual property.

In recent years, the city has demonstrated a commitment to cultivating an environment conducive to the protection of intellectual property rights.

Local authorities have introduced a range of preferential policies, including offering financial support, to incentivize enterprises to pursue innovation.

As of December 2023, Quzhou has achieved significant milestones in this regard. It has amassed 5,231 valid invention patents, with 22.8 such patents per ten thousand people, securing the second position in the province in terms of year-on-year growth.

Furthermore, in 2023, the number of new authorized invention patents surpassed 1,053 for the first time, while the year-on-year growth of PCT patent applications exceeded the provincial average by 19.8 percentage points.

The number of high-value invention patents per ten thousand people has reached 5.06, meeting the assessment criteria of 4.5 for national economic and social development.

Additionally, Quzhou has successfully established the first national agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship intellectual property alliance and the National Agricultural Innovation and Entrepreneurship Intellectual Property Service Base.
