Kecheng district in Quzhou, Zhejiang province has made significant strides in advancing rural vitalization by exploring natural resources of its villages to develop related industries.

For example, thanks to the introduction of business such as campsites and coffee shops in Xiayutou village, urban residents can now enjoy a delightful weekend engaging in activities such as brewing tea, painting, savoring coffee, and playing in the sandpit.

Local authorities have focused on creating a picturesque landscape belt by implementing projects to improve the living environment and rural landscapes, while also preserving traditional villages.

This initiative has been complemented by a series of successful events, including the Fairy Tale Festival, Tea Festival, and the Song Rhyme Aesthetic Life Festival, which collectively drew 150,000 visitors in 2023.

Kecheng has also prioritized enhancing infrastructure, digitizing garbage classification in villages and completing 50 provincially designated high-standard rural villages as demonstration zones for rural household garbage classification.

Moreover, significant progress has been made in upgrading rural toilets, with the establishment of 21 provincial-level toilets in 2023, significantly improving the habitability of the beautiful countryside.

Shishi township, nourished by the pristine waters of the Wuxi River, is now home to the largest sturgeon processing center in the country, accounting for one-third of the global caviar market.

In addition to these achievements, authorities have also focused on developing related industries, such as sporting events, as well as establishing snack food and pet industries.

Furthermore, efforts have been made to develop suburban agriculture and traditional Chinese medicinal herb industrial parks, further enhancing the district's economic landscape.
