Longyou county in Quzhou, Zhejiang province has been shortlisted as a provincial pilot county to pursue scientific and technological innovation, the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology announced on Dec 18.

The county has in recent years been making efforts to coordinate industrial and innovation chains by promoting spatial integration and the integration of industry and cities. It has made significant strides in scientific and technological innovation and the upgrading of the traditional manufacturing industry.

The county has also been focusing on advancing the development of advantageous industrial clusters such as intelligent manufacturing, carbon-based materials, rail transportation, specialty paper, and green food, with a number of leading enterprises with core technologies and import substitution capabilities rapidly gaining momentum.
