Kaihua holds root carving cultural festival to advance integration of culture and tourism
The 11th China (Kaihua) Root Carving Cultural Festival was launched in Kaihua county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province on Dec 12, according to local media reports.
Five travel experts from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative were appointed as travel advisers during the event.
The event was aimed at promoting the county's root carving culture and advancing the in-depth integration of culture and tourism, which will in turn aid its common prosperity drive, said a local official.
From January to September this year, Kaihua welcomed a total of 3.65 million tourists, a year-on-year growth of 32.51 percent. Tourism revenue reached 2.96 billion yuan ($417.06 million), a year-on-year increase of 14.9 percent.
Kaihua will collaborate with other places to launch customized tourism routes, aiming to promote the integrated and coordinated development of culture and tourism.
