Yu Yiting, a gold medalist at the Hangzhou Asian Games, returned to her hometown of Changshan county, Quzhou, on Oct 5 and received a warm welcome from the local people. She was also appointed as the Changshan tourism promotion ambassador.

Yu Yiting visited the Changshan National Fitness Center and interacted with young swimmers there. She shared her swimming experiences, offered them tips and encouraged them to pursue their dreams.

She also visited some popular attractions, such as the Sanqu Stone Forest Scenic Area, Luli Mine Camp, Stone Museum, and Xucun village.

"Becoming a tourism promotion ambassador is a recognition of my hometown for me. Changshan tourism has come a long way. Many tourist attractions have turned waste into treasure, including a sheep shed turned into a sheep shed coffee shop. I think these are some very novel ideas, and such places are popular among young people," said Yu.

Yu Yiting was born in Qingshi town, Changshan county in 2005. She moved to Ningbo with her parents when she was a child and started swimming at the age of six. She joined the Zhejiang provincial team at the age of 10 and won many national championships.

At the Hangzhou Asian Games, she won three gold medals and one silver medal in four events. She said she was very satisfied with her performance and hoped to achieve glory at the Olympics.

Changshan county hopes that Yu Yiting, as its tourism promotion ambassador, can inspire more people to visit Changshan and enjoy its sports culture.
