The Longyou County Museum in Quzhou, Zhejiang province hosted a China paper culture salon on Sept 9, inviting paper artists and enthusiasts from Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian and Jiangxi provinces to communicate and learn from each other.

The highlight of the event was the opening of the first Longyou paper exhibition, featuring 22 works by Wan Aizhu, a national intangible cultural heritage inheritor of paper making and a collector of paper masterpieces.

Longyou paper-making is a traditional craft that dates back more than 1,000 years. It uses local materials such as mountain yew bark and requires more than 30 processes to produce thin, tough, and long-lasting paper.

"By participating in such exhibitions, we can learn more about Longyou paper and inspire the next generation's passion for paper-making. Through learning and communication, we can further expand Longyou paper's influence," said Wan Aizhu, a citizen of Quzhou.
