As an UNESCO world heritage site, the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City officially opened its vital Laohuling site to the public for first time on July 6.

Located in Yuhang district of Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, the peripheral water conservancy system here is the earliest large-scale hydraulic system in China at the moment.

Containing the area of high-dam at the mouth of the valley, the area of low-dam on the plain and the area of causeway in front of the mountains, as well as other natural dams, the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City spans about 14.34 square kilometers and proves the profound Chinese civilization of ancient times. The Laohuling site, which is open at this time, is part of the area of high-dam at the mouth of the valley, where visitors can view traditional water conservancy methods.
