China's first outdoor 5G live stream room was set up at Hubin Pedestrian Street in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province on May 17, making it an instant new landmark and a hit on the street, local officials said.

Hangzhou have been working to build Hubin Pedestrian Street into China's first demonstration street for 5G applications since the street was listed by the Ministry of Commerce, among the first 11 pilot streets for upgrading.

According to representatives of Hubin Pedestrian Street Co, the street will use 5G signals to conduct promotional live streaming to provide better shopping services for residents.

So far, the street has been covered by 5G and WIFI signals.

Officials said moving forward, the 5G-empowered security system, intelligent logistics, unmanned aerial vehicles, virtual reality and new retail will be deployed on the street.
