Summit to invite global young scientists to Wenzhou

The 2019 Global Young Scientists (Wenzhou) Summit will get underway in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province from Oct 26 to 27, according to a news conference held by the provincial government on Oct 14.

The summit, which is being held for the first time, is hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology and the provincial government of Zhejiang.

It will feature 35 activities focusing on entrepreneurship, education, health, intelligent manufacturing, and resources, said organizers. 

More than 800 young scientists and entrepreneurs from 100 countries and regions are expected to attend the summit, including seven Nobel Prize winners specializing in medicine, math, chemistry, economics and informatics, among other fields, as well as representatives from 17 international science and technology organizations.

According to organizers, the summit will be held every year in Zhejiang, and a permanent secretariat be set up.
