Located in Zhapu town of Pinghu city, Zhejiang province, Jiaxing Export Processing Zone has a total planning area of 2.99 square kilometers.

The zone was approved by the State Council in 2003, and is under special customs supervision having adopted a new customs clearance mode.

The construction of infrastructure, including transportation, power grids, government departments and financial institutions, was completed in 2005 and the zone was put into operation in 2006.
