The 2025 Formula Student China Competition, organized by the China Society of Automotive Engineers, recently took place in Hefei, Anhui province. The Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) formula electric racing team showcased their exceptional skills, winning the national first prize.
They also received awards for Outstanding Three-Electric System Design, Excellence in Case Analysis, and Best Annual Promotion Team, marking their best performance in a decade.

The team's self-developed race car has undergone numerous upgrades, evolving from the "Black Shark I" in 2010 to the "Silver Shark XIV" in 2025, consistently earning praise for its innovative design and superior craftsmanship.
In the static events, the "Silver Shark E47" excelled with its highly integrated and stable electrical system, demonstrating the team's solid technical foundation. The car's extremely lightweight carbon fiber monocoque body blends mechanics and aesthetics, reflecting the team's relentless pursuit of design excellence.

The dynamic events served as the ultimate test of the car's overall performance. In the straight-line acceleration test, the "Silver Shark E47" demonstrated the powerful burst of its electric drive system, akin to a cheetah in pursuit. During the figure-eight and high-speed obstacle avoidance tests, the car navigated the cones with precision steering and stable chassis tuning, drawing perfect trajectories.

Throughout the competition, BIT students not only showcased their engineering expertise but also impressed the audience and the judges with their innovative business acumen and project management skills. In the business report segment, team members provided comprehensive analyses of cost control, manufacturing processes, and design, winning acclaim from the judges with their clear logic and innovative business models.
The event attracted over 100 university teams and more than 4,000 industry representatives and young students from across the nation.
Earlier, in the 2025 Baja SAE China competition, the BIT team also secured a national first prize. With a decade of dedication to the Baja racing field and adhering to the "innovation-driven" spirit, the team has won 18 various honors in recent Baja SAE China events and applied for four patents, showcasing their solid research capabilities and engineering practice skills.
