The Ningxia Plain in the Middle of the Yellow River photography exhibition opened at Ningxia Museum in Yinchuan on Tuesday. The exhibition will run until Jan 5 and then tour other locations, including Shizuishan city and Pingluo county in the autonomous region.

The exhibition aims to protect, preserve and promote Yellow River culture by exploring its contemporary significance and the ecological landscape of the Yellow River’s distinctive “bends”. 

Through 120 photos, the exhibit showcases Ningxia’s unique ecology, rich cultural heritage and vibrant daily life, highlighting the beauty of a new Ningxia and the spirit of its people. Centered on Pingluo county, the exhibition captures a grand theme through a localized perspective, bringing the “Ningxia landmark” along the Yellow River to life in a way that is visible, tangible and relatable.

Tongfu township (Gaoren township) in Pingluo county, Shizuishan city, Ningxia, is located at the midpoint of the main course of the Yellow River. This unique location has earned it the name "In the Heart of the Yellow River". 

Using this as its backdrop, the exhibition is divided into three sections: “Heart of the River”, “River’s Edge” and “River’s Surge”. Through photography, it allows visitors to experience scenes from riverbank conservation along the Yellow River to high-speed trains at the foot of Helan Mountain and busy ancient city blocks, showcasing the unique beauty of the Ningxia Plain.
