Guests from both sides of the Taiwan Strait explore charm of Ya'an
The 15th Cross-Strait Film Exhibition is being held in Ya'an, Sichuan province, from May 27 to 31. In addition to hosting exchanges within the film industry, the guests also explored the beauty of Ya'an city with the nighttime view of the Qingyi River.
On May 28, the guests from both sides of the Taiwan Strait boarded a cruise together for a night tour of the Qingyi River. The cruise passed iconic attractions such as the Panda Green Island Park, the Rainbow Bridge and other sites, showcasing the unique charm of Ya'an.
A light show was held at the Ya'an Panda Expo Center, integrating technology, culture and art, and bringing the guests a unique visual feast.
Moreover, the guests tasted the local "long street feast" featuring the traditional "nine big bowls" of Ya'an.
The feast brought together such Ya'an's specialties as liangbanji (chicken salad with chili sauce), Yuanzhi Surou (crispy pork with original flavor), Xianshaobai (steamed pork belly with salty vegetables), as well as snacks like Tianshuimian (sweet and sour noodles in Sichuan style), and spring rolls.
"By participating in this event, I felt the love and attachment of the people in Ya'an towards their regional culture and profound historical heritage. Many people enjoyed dinner together on one street, experiencing the warmth of the people of Ya'an. It's not just about the food, but about whom you dine with and the interactive communication during the meal," said guest Ma Yue, an actor from the Chinese mainland.
