First gold medal in figure skating awarded at National Winter Games

On the afternoon of Feb 22, the first gold medal in figure skating was awarded at the 14th National Winter Games.
The Beijing team secured the gold medal in the figure skating team event, with a total score of 80 points. The Guangdong team, a dark horse in the competition, claimed the silver medal in the same event, while the Heilongjiang team took home the bronze medal.
The figure skating team events at the National Winter Games include four disciplines: ice dance, men's singles, women's singles, and pairs skating.
Each discipline consists of a short program and a free skate, and after two days and eight segments of competition, the medal winners were determined.

Prior to this victory, the Beijing team had already secured first place in the first three disciplines, thanks to Jin Boyang (men's singles free skate), Wang Shiyue and Liu Xinyu (ice dance), and Peng Cheng and Wang Lei (pairs skating).
The Guangdong ice dance pair, Xiao Zixi and He Linghao, and the pairs skating duo, Guo Rui and Zhang Yiwen, each secured third place in their respective disciplines. Liu Yuxuan claimed fourth place in the women's singles free skate.
