Some scenic villages in Tonglu county in East China's Zhejiang have increased their attractiveness to visitors thanks to a scenic spot upgrading program.
The county was in 2021 included in the program launched by the provincial government to upgrade scenic spots through micro renovations.
Longfeng village in Eshan She ethnic township is one such beneficiary.
The new tourism facilities revolving around the local She culture built in the village because of the program has injected strong vitality to the local tourism sector.
A cultural festival featuring hongqu rice wine was launched in Longfeng on Nov 19. In addition to drinking the wine, visitors were also treated to She ethnic snacks such as glutinous rice cake and fried bean curd during the event.
Zhongmen ethnic village is another place that has benefited from the upgrading campaign - a number of sightseeing platforms and green-ways have been established in the village.
A head official at the Eshan She ethnic township said they are striving to create an ecological space suitable for both living and traveling.
