The collective common prosperity standards for ethical villages instituted by Tonglu county, East China's Zhejiang province recently passed the expert review.
The standards, which evaluate the level of common prosperity of the Eshan She ethnic township based on aspects including culture, environment, industries, resident income and public services, are the first of its kind in China.
Eshan is the only township in Tonglu primarily inhabited by ethnic minorities.
The appraisal system also provides a standardized reference for the pursuit of common prosperity in other ethnic villages across the nation.
In June 2021, the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council, China's Cabinet, unveiled a guideline to build Zhejiang into a demonstration zone for common prosperity.
Since then, the province has published a series of detailed plans and measures, and endeavors to realize common prosperity by the year 2035, when its per capita GDP and the income of urban and rural residents are expected to be on par with those of the developed countries.
