Eshan ethnic village on track to achieve common prosperity

Eshan ethnic village in Tonglu county, East China's Zhejiang province has emerged as a model in the county's pursuit of common prosperity.
The village has prioritized tourism development based on local unspoiled natural landscapes and the culture of the She ethnic minority group in its efforts to pursue common prosperity.
In 2021, Eshan ethnic village's tourism income surpassed 20 million yuan ($3.07 million). The village's collective income exceeded 2 million yuan, while the disposable income of local villagers topped 30,000 yuan, doubling that of last year, according to Yao Zhangshui, Party chief of the village.
Xijinwu, a natural village administered by Eshan, exemplifies the transformative changes that have been made in recent years.
In the past two years, Xinjinwu has undergone significant modernization to emerge as a hit tourism destination. Homestays transformed from 16 houses in the village are expected to generate an annual additional income of 300,000 yuan.
