East China's Jiangxi province is leading the high-quality development of old revolutionary base areas.
In 2020, Jiangxi's gross domestic product (GDP) registered a year-on-year increase of 3.8 percent to about 2.57 trillion yuan ($395 billion). It has a population of more than 45.18 million.
Jiangxi is known as the cradle of the Chinese revolution. In October 1927, Mao Zedong led a fledgling group of Chinese revolutionaries deep into the mountains around Jinggangshan in the province, where they established the first rural revolutionary base of the Communist Party of China.
It is also renowned for ceramics. Jingdezhen, a city known as "the capital of ceramics" in the province, has been producing ceramics since the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220).
Lushan Mountain, situated in the northern part of Jiangxi, is one of China's most renowned mountains. Lushan National Park was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in December 1996.
This special is designed to offer a glimpse into charming Jiangxi through its two cities of Xinyu and Yingtan.
