Shuai Daoquan, an 87-year-old Party member, was elected to manage operations and supervise the financial affairs of Guihua village's Yiyang Home. Shuai has lived in this Yiyang Home with his wife since 2017.

Twenty people are now living in the Yiyang Home in Guihua village. Each of them only needs to pay 200 yuan ($31) per month for board and lodging, just like in other Yiyang Home facilities. The other costs are covered by finances at the municipal and county (district) levels and from other sources.

In addition, basic health examinations are regularly provided for those living at the Yiyang Home by the village's Xiaokang Clinic.

The Xiaokang Clinic project, another livelihood project of Xinyu, equips each administrative village with a publically owned clinic. The Xiaokang Clinics across Xinyu are a part of the city's efforts to promote the grassroots health service system.

In 2016, Xinyu took the lead in Jiangxi to construct the Yiyang Home facilities, with the aim to provide day care and mental comfort to elderly people in rural areas.

According to statistics, 736 Yiyang Homes were established in the city’s 414 administrative villages by April 2021, and 118 of them provide both board and lodging services. A total of 10,309 rural seniors over 70 years old have benefited from this program.
