Chinese mainland reports 61 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

BEIJING -- Chinese health authority said Monday that it received reports of 61 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland Sunday, including four imported cases and 57 locally-transmitted ones.

Forty-one of the 57 locally-transmitted cases were reported in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 14 in Liaoning province, and two in Jilin province, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

No deaths related to the disease or new suspected COVID-19 cases were reported Sunday.

The Chinese mainland reported four new imported COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 2,049, the National Health Commission said Monday.

Two imported cases were reported in Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Sunday, while Fujian province and Sichuan province each saw one imported case, the commission said in its daily report.

Eighty imported COVID-19 cases remained hospitalized, with two in critical conditions, it said, adding that there were still three imported suspected cases.

No deaths had been reported from the imported cases.
