In a "Signals and Systems" class at Xidian University in Xi’an, student Wu Haorui explained the Fourier transform's role in signal decomposition, earning praise from Professor Arwa Dabbech. The program, characterized by small, interactive, all-English classes, exemplifies Sino-British educational cooperation.
Since 2015, the Sino-UK Programme between Xidian University and Heriot-Watt University has focused on cultivating students' values, abilities, and qualities. It integrates the "red gene" into education, providing students with a strong ideological foundation.

In March, students from the 2024 cohort participated in the first "Red Cultural Relics" virtual simulation competition. They selected relics, gathered materials, and used digital modeling to revitalize items like the Dongfanghong Satellite. "We learned virtual simulation technology and understood the cultural significance of red relics," said student An Zimeng.

The program also enhances professional skills through competitions, focusing on engineering practice and innovation. In the "B39VS System Project" course, students presented an "Intelligent Entertainment Robot" design, addressing questions on innovation and cost control. Professor Chen Yanhui noted improvements in software, design, and teamwork skills.
Global literacy is central to the program, aiming to integrate Chinese and English cultures and enhance cultural identity through exhibitions and workshops. Students connect with international organizations for internships, gaining confidence in cross-cultural communication. "I am more confident in cross-cultural communication," said student Tang Jiayi, after her internship with The Millennium Project.
To date, the program has graduated 662 students, winning over 170 national awards in various competitions. The class has been honored with titles like "May 4th Red Flag Youth League Branch." Professor Tian Bin expressed optimism for the future, aiming to continue advancing Sino-foreign cooperative education.
