Trade fair and conference propel technological transformation

The 2025 Belt and Road Key and Core Technology Achievements Trade Fair & Shaanxi Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Creativity Conference commenced on November 7 at the Western China Science and Technology Innovation Port located at Xi’an Jiaotong University in Xi’an, Shaanxi province.

Hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong University, the event seeks to enhance the integration of industry and education, promote high-quality transfer of scientific achievements, and support the development of a modern industrial system.

The event was attended by officials from national ministries, representatives from member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and delegates from universities and enterprises along the Belt and Road Initiative.

Zhang Liqun, president of Xi'an Jiaotong University, emphasized the pivotal role of scientific innovation in driving industrial progress. He stated that the university intends to use the conference as platform to enhance collaboration between industry and education, thereby facilitating the transition of scientific achievements from laboratory to production.

Lu Jianjun, secretary of the Party Committee at Xi'an Jiaotong University, highlighted the university's efforts to integrate resources from academic institutions, local communities, and enterprises. The university has established partnerships with 248 leading companies and has incubated over 270 technology-based enterprises.

Li Jiuhong, vice governor of Shaanxi province, noted the Innovation Port's role as a platform for implementing national strategies and fostering industry-academia-research integration.

Qodirzoda Farhod Anvar, vice president of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, praised the Belt and Road initiative for fostering scientific cooperation and highlighted Tajikistan's interest in green energy and agricultural technology.

The conference featured one main forum, 14 special events, 17 project roadshows, and an achievement exhibition, attracting participation from 35 top universities and research institutions. Projects covered fields such as integrated circuits, AI, biomedicine, and big data. These projects were evaluated for their technological maturity and market potential, contributing to the creation of a "hard science and technology ecosystem" within the Belt and Road framework.
