Immersed in the harmonious voices of 70 college students from the Zhongnan Choir of Shaanxi Normal University, the "Singing in Chang'an" - 2025 Xi'an New Year Choral Concert,  gracefully commenced at the Xi'an Concert Hall in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, Northwest China, on the evening of Dec 15.

With the resonant melodies of 20 Chinese and foreign songs performed by 10 exceptional choir teams, the concert ushered in a new year with a spirit of hope and aspirations all conveyed through the enchanting power of music.

This remarkable event showcases a captivating blend of styles, fusing traditional allure with contemporary innovation while seamlessly integrating local cultural essence with global musical influences, painting a vivid cultural mosaic that transcends boundaries of time, space, and nationality. 

The mass choir concert stands as a cultural hallmark of Xi'an city, symbolizing the city's rich artistic tapestry.

Representatives from the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism emphasized that hosting this concert not only serves as a cultural gift to the audience for the New Year but also stands as a collective showcase of the choir's achievements, aiming to inspire citizens to engage actively in choral arts.

With a remarkable display of inclusivity, the choir concert boasts the most diverse age range of participants in recent  history, achieving an unprecedented breadth of age inclusivity.

The ten choir teams are categorized into five distinct groups based on age composition: preschool, elementary school, middle school, youth, and middle-aged to elderly. Notably, the youth segment constitutes 80% of the participants reflecting a vibrant energy within the performance..

Bai Liqun, director of the Xi'an Mass Art Museum, expressed, "Through this concert, we aim to convey the message that when we unite, we can create the most exquisite harmony of our era."
