Lecture promotes science, ethics, and academic excellence

On December 13th, Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xian, Shaanxi province, hosted the Hundred Lectures on the Spirit of Scientists and the Education Campaign on Scientific Ethics and Academic Conduct Construction.

Zhou Li, a distinguished figure renowned for his leadership high-speed train innovation shared insights on "Development of China's High-Speed Railway Network and EMU Technology." This captivating keynote was followed by engaging discussions between Zhou and representatives from the University’s faculty and student body.

During his address, he provided a comprehensive overview of China's high-speed railway technology development, with a specific focus on the growth of China's high-speed railway network and advancements in high-speed train technology. Notably, he highlighted the success of the Fuxing high-speed train, boasting complete independent intellectual property rights, which has been deployed on various domestic routes and is being considered for implementation on the Jakarta Bandung high-speed railway project overseas.

Zhou emphasized that China currently leads the world in railway technology, necessitating a focus on original technological breakthroughs moving forward. He urged university students to courageously embrace significant responsibilities during pivotal national technological advancements, emphasizing that entering a technical role is not merely a career choice but an opportunity that selects individuals. Encouraging students to align their aspirations with the nation's destiny, He urged students to work diligently, innovate boldly, and persistently pursue excellence.

The attendees, including students, expressed their gratitude for Zhou Li's insights, and for providing guidance for their future endeavors.

This series of activities aims to bring top scientists and exceptional engineers to campuses, institutions, enterprises, and industrial parks. The Xian event marked the second series, following the inaugural event at Beijing University of Science and Technology in late October.
