The "New National Style, New Silk Road, New Technology" 2024 Shaanxi Fashion Design Competition, hosted by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and China Fashion Association, concluded on Nov 19 in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi province in Northwest China.

At the finals, diverse groups of fashion shows are staged blending traditional elements with modern fashion aesthetics, and various design works.

The competition held on Nov 18 and 19 was open to domestic and foreign universities and independent designers for submissions, with a total of 1,066 works received.

Famous domestic experts, scholars, and designers were invited to serve as judges on site to select 25 award-winning works, including gold, silver, bronze awards, individual awards, and excellent awards, and sign incubation support plans.

Five universities including Xi'an Polytechnic University won the "Pioneer Talent Cultivation Award", eight units including Yulin Cashmere and Woolen Clothing Industry Association won the "Shaanxi Clothing Industry Construction Contribution Award", and Shaanxi Yalai Industrial Group Co., Ltd. won the "Han Dynasty Clothing Special Contribution Award".

Liu Bo said that this competition was not only an industry event that focuses on demonstrating Shaanxi's unique historical and cultural charm and new achievements of high-quality development of the textile and clothing industry, but also a key measure to shape Shaanxi's clothing fashion cultural strength, build a western fashion capital, and deeply integrate into the overall pattern of the "the Belt and Road".

An academic forum on clothing design is held during the competition.

In the academic forum during the competition, experts, scholars, designers and entrepreneurs from all over the country and the province had in-depth exchanges around the two themes of "high-quality development of Shaanxi clothing industry" and "China-Chic clothing culture development and consumption", to jointly explore the new trend of China-Chic clothing culture development and consumption, and new ideas and paths for the development of the textile and clothing industry.
