The Forum on High-Quality Development of Management Education and the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Restoration of the School of Management at Xi'an Jiaotong University was held on Oct 19 at Xi'an Jiaotong University in Xi’an, Shaanxi province in Northwest China.

The forum and celebration are held at the university on Saturday.

Leaders, guests, alumni, and representatives from various sectors gathered to commemorate the remarkable achievements of the School of Management over the past 40 years. The event aimed to reflect on the legacy of the institution and chart a course for the future of high-quality management education.

Lu Jianjun, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Xi'an Jiaotong University, delivered a speech highlighting the pivotal role of the School of Management in fostering a cadre of esteemed experts and professors. He particularly lauded Mr. Wang Yingluo for his outstanding contributions to the field of management in China, emphasizing the school's commitment to innovation, national strategy, and industrial development. Lu underscored the importance of education, technology, and talent in advancing the nation's modernization efforts.

Xi'an Jiaotong University has prioritized national imperatives, upheld ethical values, and embraced the spirit of westward expansion to bolster China's path to modernization. The rich history of management education and disciplines at Jiaotong University dates back to the establishment of the business school by Nanyang Public School in 1903. Over the years, the institution has evolved, with significant milestones including the founding of the Railway Management Department in 1918 and the establishment of the School of Management in 1931.

In 1984, the Ministry of Education sanctioned the revival of the Management College, marking a significant milestone in the history of management education in China. The School of Management at Xi'an Jiaotong University has been a pioneer in various programs, including the training of the first management engineering PhD in China and the introduction of MBA and Executive MBA programs for senior executives.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the School of Management continues its legacy of knowledge dissemination and talent cultivation, producing innovative and socially responsible leaders with a global perspective. The institution has trained over 30,000 management professionals who have contributed significantly to national development and various industries.
