Training course for senior technical officials opens in Xi’an

The opening ceremony of the Training Course for Senior Technical Officials in the field of transport infrastructure between China and Central Asian countries (the first session) was held on May 15 at Chang’an University in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, Northwest China.

The course opening ceremony is held on May 15 at the university’s north campus.

In order to implement the outcomes of the China-Central Asia Summit, which was held in May 2023 in Xi’an, and promote the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, Chang'an University and the China-Central Alliance for Talent Development in Transportation Infrastructure organized the training course.

The first 12 trainees come from the National Planning and Design Institute of Uzbekistan, a member of the Alliance Council.

In his speech at the ceremony, Fan Wen, vice president of Chang'an University, said that China and Uzbekistan have a long and friendly relationship. The series of training for senior professionals in the field of transport infrastructure between China and Central Asia organized by Chang'an University is an important measure to implement the achievements of the China-Central Asia Summit and enhance exchanges and cooperation between China and the five Central Asian countries in the field of transportation education.

Fan hopes that the participating members will learn and achieve success, and China and Uzbekistan will continue to work together to expand cooperation areas and achieve win-win development.

Wang Jingjing, deputy director of the Eurasian Department of the Foreign Affairs Working Committee Office of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party, stated that the opening of this series of training courses has built a platform for communication and cooperation between China and the five Central Asian countries in the field of transport infrastructure.

She hopes that the first batch of trainees from Uzbekistan can take this opportunity to fully exchange ideas, conduct in-depth discussions, gain insights, and apply what they have learned, contributing positively to the construction of a closer China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.

Liu Yu, representative of training experts and professor from the Highway College at Chang'an University, gave a brief introduction to the course design for the training.

Kosimov Shukhratbek, chief advisor to the president of the Uzbekistan National Planning and Design Institute, expressed gratitude on behalf of the trainees who came to China to participate in the training, and said that the trainees will cherish the opportunity, study diligently, and effectively improve their professional competence and skills, serving as ambassadors for promoting friendly exchanges between China and Uzbekistan.

This training event will showcase the international characteristics of Chang'an University through rich course design, featuring professional theoretical lectures, professional internship practices, and Chinese cultural experiences. It will showcase China's new development concepts, new training models, and new technological achievements, help promote the high-quality development of China-Uzbekistan's transportation industry, and promote the joint construction of a community with a shared future for China and Central Asia.
