The 2024 Shaanxi Digital Education Conference, sponsored by the Education Working Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Department of Education, was held on April 28 at Xi'an Medical College in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, Northwest China.

The conference is held on Sunday in Xi’an.

With the theme of "Digital Empowerment and Innovative Applications", the conference held a plenary session and three parallel conference activities, covering the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence for educational development, digital education governance, and educational network security in the digital and digital era.

Wang Shusheng, deputy secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and director of the Provincial Department of Education, pointed out that it is important to deeply understand that digital education is an important component of the construction of a digital China, and is a key increment in reshaping the education pattern and laying the foundation for a highly-educated country.

“In recent years, Shaanxi has deeply implemented the major strategic deployment of Digital China, and in accordance with the work requirements of the Ministry of Education, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, we have steadfastly promoted the digital education strategy and achieved significant results,” Wang said.

He emphasized that schools in various regions should further improve their political stance, strengthen digital empowerment, enhance the effectiveness of comprehensive education governance, strengthen the construction of related disciplines and majors, promote the innovative development of digital education, build a solid bottom line of educational network security, and open up a new track for the high-quality development of education.

He set out the requirements that the education system in the whole province strengthen organizational leadership, comprehensively consolidate main responsibilities, continuously strengthen work guarantees, focus on building a strong team, and gather a strong force for the development of digital education.

The conference invited experts in the field of education digitization, principals, teachers, and representatives from the city’s education bureau to hold on-site exchanges on the development of digital education, providing clear work ideas and rich practical experience for the province's education system to further promote the high-quality development of education against the background of artificial intelligence.

Members of the coordination mechanism for Shaanxi province to promote "Internet plus education", municipal (district) education bureaus and colleges and universities attended the meeting.
