The meeting of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the discipline of medicine and forensics at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) took place on Oct 28. During the meeting, the alumni association of medicine and forensics was officially established.
Xi Guang, vice president of XJTU and president of the XJTU alumni association, stated that the establishment of the alumni association of medicine and forensics will further advance the development of the medicine and forensics discipline.
He also expressed hope that all members of the discipline of medicine and forensics will march forward with determination and promote the country's prosperity.
During the meeting, the alumni association's working methods were reviewed and approved, and the first council and leadership structure were elected.
Lai Jianghua, the first president of the alumni association, stated that as the inaugural president, he will work diligently alongside all faculty and students to jointly create a new era of excellence for medicine and forensics.
He said the alumni association will fully leverage its role as a platform, integrate resources, and create a win-win situation for alumni, the university, the discipline, and student development.
Over the past 70 years, XJTU's discipline of medicine and forensics has addressed challenges hindering the development of forensic science, producing a significant number of talents urgently needed by the country.
It has cultivated one-fourth of forensic personnel in China's public security, judicial, and procuratorial systems, as well as over 90 percent of outstanding talent in the field of forensic science.
