The Silk Road International Architecture Technology Conference was recently held in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, Northwest China.

This conference, hosted by Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, brought together experts and scholars from 23 countries along the Silk Road to exchange ideas and promote cooperation in architectural technology. The goal was to respond to the Belt and Road Initiative, foster international exchange and collaboration in green development related to building science and technology, and to enhance the quality of talent training in this field.

One significant outcome of the conference was the establishment of the Silk Road International Alliance of Architecture and Technology Universities. Initiated by Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, this alliance includes 45 universities as its first members, consisting of 32 foreign universities from 22 Silk Road countries and 13 Chinese universities. The alliance charter, a five-year action plan, and the Xi'an Consensus were among the important documents adopted during the conference.

According to Zhu Xiaowei, the secretary of the Party Committee of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, his institution has a long-standing tradition of exchange and cooperation with architectural universities along the Silk Road. Recognizing that these universities face common challenges, Zhu emphasized the importance of promoting technological cooperation, building a beautiful home together, and enhancing human well-being as shared goals.

One of the highlights of the conference was the release of two reports: the "Silk Road International Building Technology Development Report" and the "Green Development Report on Residential Environment in Cities and Towns Along the Western Silk Road." These reports, compiled by Chinese experts and scholars from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, provided valuable insight into the latest trends and advancements in the field of architecture along the Silk Road.

In addition to the main conference, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology also organized several parallel events. These included the International Forum on Ecological Science and Engineering of Human Settlements in Response to Global Climate Change, the Silk Road International Art and Design Forum, the Forum on the Protection and Utilization of Large Sites and the Innovative Development of National Archaeological Site Parks, the Silk Road International Cooperation Forum on Architecture Schools, and the Silk Road International Talent Training and Employment Forum.

Zhao Xiangmo, president of the university, officially announced the establishment of the alliance and awarded medals to the member units. This symbolic gesture further emphasized the commitment of all participating institutions to work together to build a better future for humanity.
