On Feb 17, Xiqing district held a talents exchange meeting in the Xeda Entrepreneur Service Center. Sun Zhiliang, deputy director of the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, Zhu Caibin, secretary of the CPC Xiqing Committee, and Sun Lihua, director of the Talents Division of the Organization Department of the CPC Tianjin Committee, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Chen Jun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nankai University Committee and vice president of Nankai University, gave a speech via video link.

Yin Xuewu, deputy secretary of the CPC Xiqing Committee and head of Xiqing, Hao Tong, director of the Returned Overseas Students Affairs Office of the Tianjin Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Yang Ming, director of the Student Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, and the relevant responsible persons of 11 universities in Tianjin, including Nankai University, Tianjin University and Tianjin Normal University, were also present at the meeting.

Aiming at accelerating the construction of a new talents hub, during the meeting, Xiqing district launched and interpreted the new policies for introducing talents in the region, and issued certificates and the first batch of the "young talent service card" to leading talents and young scientific and technological talents. Meanwhile, the related department of Xiqing district also conducted on-site services, such as investment promotion support, employment support, government services and business environment optimization.

The newly launched policies will be adopted to form a new talents layout by gathering five key groups of talents, improving four platform carriers, cultivating two specialized talents teams and innovating four types of safeguard measures. At the same time, 15 high-quality and inclusive actions have been planned, which contain the government’s support for the innovation and entrepreneurship platform and the optimization of talents services.

During the meeting, five projects, including the new material experimental research and marine intelligent equipment research and development project of Tianjin University and Nankai University, and the intelligent vehicle network operation and automatic driving project of Tsinghua University and Beijing Jiaotong University, were signed and landed in Xiqing. 83 key enterprises in the five major industrial chains of: integrated circuits, Internet of Vehicles, automobiles and new energy vehicles, high-end equipment and bio-pharmaceuticals, have launched 760 positions for 3,200 talents.

Zhu Caibin highlighted that Xiqing has a long historical background, convenient transportation, characteristic industries and a promising future. The local government will strive to introduce talents to further the high-quality development of the region.

Over the next three years, 150 leading talent projects will be introduced to Xiqing, 60 national-level talents will be brought here for innovation and entrepreneurship, and 800 leading talents and young scientific and technological talents will be attracted, who will contribute their wisdom to the high-quality development of Xiqing district.
