Welcome to Wenzhou International High School. My name is Peter Round and I am delighted and honored to be the first international vice-principal of the school. I have taught at English schools for 33 years and I am very proud to have the opportunity to work in Wenzhou and give your children the best possible start to their lives. I understand that choosing an international and bilingual education for your child is not an easy decision to make. I can empathize because I too made a big life decision by coming to China. I will strive to ensure that you will have no regrets abouthaving chosen Wenzhou school for your child.
My educational philosophy is fairly straightforward and is as follows:
Good education is about teachers, students and parents working together to improve the life chances of children in an increasingly interdependent and quickly changing world. It is a school's responsibility to give children the values, skills and knowledge required to live a full and rewarding life and to be able to operate as effective citizens in the world.
This requires all those involved in the education of children to work together to give children all the knowledge and skills needed to be successful and happy in the years ahead. Teachers need to deliver outstanding lessons and give support whereand when it is needed. Parents also need to provide support and encourage their children to work hard and be disciplined. Students need to seize the opportunities, both academic and extracurricular, that a school like ours provides.
Throughout my career I have worked by the belief that when people join together they can achieve great things. The 'East meets West' philosophy of the SUIS family can give your child the most rewarding and positive start to their lives.
