OVC achieves maiden flight of 'sky delivery'
In a groundbreaking development, a drone carrying bubble milk tea successfully took off from LOGO Plaza in the Optics Valley Central Ecological Corridor and flew 8 kilometers to the Wuhan East Lake Free Trade Zone.
The drone completed the journey in just 15 minutes, landing smoothly on a designated helipad, marking the successful maiden flight along the "Ecological Vertical Axis Route" in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

This "Ecological Vertical Axis Route" is Wuhan's first low-altitude logistics route connecting industrial zones with urban ecological living areas. It represents a significant breakthrough by applying approved low-altitude routes to instant food delivery, enabling point-to-point aerial delivery from core commercial areas to industrial parks.
Traditional ground-based delivery from Joy City to the free trade zone typically takes 40 to 60 minutes. However, with this new low-altitude logistics route, delivery time is reduced to approximately 15 minutes.
Once fully operational, employees and residents around the free trade zone can order through the "Feijisong" app to enjoy popular coffee and gourmet food from OVC's bustling commercial districts. In the future, fresh produce, urgent documents, and more could also be rapidly delivered via this "sky express".
OVC plans to continue investing in the low-altitude economy, supporting the development of diverse drone applications. The aim is to establish a replicable "air-ground integrated" shared drone model, paving the way for innovative logistics solutions.
