Chongqing donates medical supplies to Japanese cities

Responding to the recent COVID-19 epidemic in Japan, Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality donated more than 120 boxes of medical materials to its sister cities of Mito and Hiroshima in Japan on May 21, according to local officials.
The boxes of supplies included 10,000 medical protective face masks, 2,000 sets of protective clothing and 660 forehead thermometers, according to Chongqing officials.
Chongqing's Banan district also donated 1,000 medical face shields, 1,000 protective suits and 40,000 disposable caps to Sanjo in Japan.
When Chongqing was hit by the epidemic at the beginning of this year, the three Japanese cities donated medical supplies to the Chinese municipality, providing important aid for the prevention and control of the epidemic.
On Feb 1, Chongqing received 50,000 medical masks donated by Mito, which was the first batch of overseas donation materials received by Chongqing.
Subsequently, 30,950 masks donated by Hiroshima also arrived in Chongqing in batches on Feb 6 and March 7.Thereafter, Sanjo also donated medical surgical masks and other materials to Chongqing's Banan district.
