Intl precision and laboratory medicine forum held in Chongqing

The International Conference on Precision and Laboratory Medicine was held in Chongqing, China from Nov 30 to Dec 2. More than 400 representatives from the municipal government, research institutes and enterprises attended the meeting.
Wang Wei, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Health Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the International Journal of Laboratory Medicine, one of the key journals of Chinese science sponsored by Chongqing Municipal Health Committee.
The conference, focused on the theme of "innovating laboratory medicine for a healthy china", offered a series of activities for participants, including academic summits, laboratory innovation development forums, and industry-university-research salons.
Various experts and officials, such as Cao Zeyi, deputy minister of the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China (formerly the National Health and Family Planning Commission), and Chen Runsheng, academician from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, made keynote speeches at the conference.
They discussed topics including the development trends and innovative applications of cutting-edge technology in precision medical diagnosis and treatment, the latest applications of big data and intelligence technology in clinical diagnosis and treatment, and investment and financing cooperation in the field.
The Chongqing Health Statistics Information Center and the Beijing Wu Zuze Science and Technology Development Fund signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the meeting, planning to jointly establish a laboratory medicine innovation award fund to promote the construction of relevant disciplines and talents in the city.
The fund is expected to encourage more medical researchers to focus on the innovation and transformation of medical technologies, and to introduce more high-quality technology-based enterprises and projects to Chongqing.
