Jiang Zhiqiang, deputy director and member of the CPC committee of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, and the heads of the aging department, the population and family division, and the health promotion division of the commission conducted a survey on health work at Tongnan district, Chongqing on November 12.

The research group carried out field research at Dongfang Baby Early Childhood Education Center, the health center of Chongkan Town, the clinic of Dawu village of Chongkan Town, and the Tongnan District Union Hospital. They learned about the implementation of "basic medical insurance" and health poverty alleviation policies in some impoverished households. The group also held a meeting at which Tongnan district reported it health work.

Jiang stressed that measures should be taken to guarantee health care work. Officials should improve health poverty alleviation policies to ensure that all policies are implemented and put in place. Grass-roots level health work should be strengthened and processes should be optimized to improve efficiency and the service capacity of village level medical and health institutions. It is also important to review the prevention and control of safety risks in early childhood education centers and health care institutions.
