Ninth medical team complete medical services to PNG

On August 13, the ninth Chinese medical team to Papua New Guinea (PNG) returned to Chongqing after successfully completing their medical assistance mission. 

The team was sent to provide medical assistance at Port Moresby General Hospital from June 2018 to August 2019. 

The team provided medical services to local PNG and Chinese communities, Chinese company employees and diplomatic staff during the mission, winning wide recognition for their exceptional medical expertise and professionalism from the local government, the assisted hospital, the Chinese embassy and companies. 

Zhou Lin, the deputy head of Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, and representatives from deploying units were at the airport to welcome home the team.   

Zhou thanked the team members for their contribution to national medical assistance and encouraged them to continue working for the development of Chongqing's healthcare. 

The team consisted of 10 members from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical Univesity (CQMU), the Second Affiliated Hospital of (CQMU), Chongqing General Hospital, Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Chongqing Medical and Pharmaceutical College, Yongchuan Hospital of CQMU, Chongqing University Cancer Hospital, Chongqing Three Gorges Central Hospital (Shuyang People's Hospital) and Xikang Hospital of Chongqing.
