The signing ceremony of a friendship blood station between the Chongqing Blood Center in China and Sanquin Blood Supply in the Netherlands was held on May 7.

Zhou Lin, a member of the Party committee and deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, attended and addressed the ceremony. 

Zhou outlined the general situation of medical and health work in Chongqing, and fully affirmed the importance of establishing such friendly cooperation.

He pointed out that unpaid blood donations have been a common choice for the world, and breakthroughs and development in blood transfusion medicine would improve blood safety and medical service.

Zhou said that he hopes the two sides will build an international exchange and cooperation base, push forward cooperative projects in a pragmatic manner and deepen the connotations of cooperation so as to benefit the people of both countries.
