Uzbek medical delegation visits Chongqing

A medical delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Khadjibaev Abdukhakim Muminovich, deputy minister of health and director-general of the Republican Center on Emergency Care, recently visited several Chongqing hospitals and took part in a medical symposium.
The delegation, accompanied by Xu Lingzhi, a senior manager of the Health Project (Chongqing Urban Rural Integration Project II) of the World Bank in East Asia and Pacific, and Elvira Anadolu, project manager and senior health specialist of the Republic of Belarus, visited Chongqing Emergency Medical Center, First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Dazu District People's Hospital, Tongnan District Health Center for Women and Children, and Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.
The delegation highly appraised the achievements of the Chongqing Emergency Medical Center and the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University in emergency medical technology, critical medicine, emergency equipment and emergency response capability, emergency personnel training, emergency medical security system and their 120 (call) emergency command system.
They also praised the medical abilities and services of the Dazu District People's Hospital and the Tongnan District Health Center for Women and Children, saying that they are strongly interested in famous traditional Chinese medicine services such as acupuncture and ophthalmology, offered at Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.
At the symposium, Wang Wei, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the development of Chongqing's health care and the progress of the World Bank's Health Project.
Wang said that Uzbekistan and China have a long-standing friendship. Powered by the Health Project, Uzbekistan and China see broad prospects for cooperation in emergency medicine and TCM services.
He added that Chongqing is ready to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Uzbekistan in medical and health care, and jointly promote health care in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Khadjibaev hoped that with the support of the World Bank project, Uzbekistan's emergency medical capacity will be increased, and that the country will deepen cooperative relations with Chongqing in the areas of technical capacity in emergency medicine, emergency medical personnel training, and construction and management of an emergency medical system.
