On March 21, Huang Minghui, Party secretary and director of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, visited the 9th Chinese medical team and had a discussion with them.

The 9th Chinese medical team was sent in June 2018 to Papua New Guinea for a one-year medical aid.  

The team has completed major activities such as assisting in screening patients and providing medical support for APEC meetings.

They also conducted works in the assisted hospitals, which won wide praise from the local people, the Chinese Embassy in PNG, Chinese enterprises and overseas Chinese.

Huang expressed his tremendous respect and gratitude to all the members of the team and their families for their contributions to China's foreign medical assistance.

He fully affirmed the gratifying achievements made by the medical team to the country, and hoped that everybody will continue to make efforts to innovate working attitudes, constantly improve medical services, and fulfill the tasks of medical aid to a high standard.

Huang asked relevant units to assure logistics support and further spread the typically exemplary deeds of the medical team so as to build a good image of the Chongqing medical team.

He Weiyang, head of the 9th Chinese medical team, reported on the teamwork. Xiao Mingchao, vice-president of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, and members of the short-term expert group also took part in the discussion.
