A train carrying 108 "Chongqing-made" new energy vehicles departed on Jan 7 from Liangjiang New Area's Yuzui Station for Guangzhou Nansha Port. The journey is expected to take 48 hours, after which the vehicles will be shipped to the Middle East.
The train employs a pilot model of mutual maritime regulatory recognition between Chongqing and Guangzhou, enabling companies to complete all cargo declarations in Chongqing and eliminating the need for additional inspections upon arrival at Nansha Port, thereby allowing direct shipment.
The model is expected to improve logistics efficiency by approximately 20 percent and reduce logistics costs by around 25 percent, further enhancing the competitiveness of Chongqing vehicles in international markets.
The Chongqing-Guangzhou train operates three scheduled departures per week, achieving a container throughput exceeding 22,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) in 2025, a 190 percent year-on-year growth.
The corridor also operates specialized trains for cold chain and automotive logistics, offering one-time entrustment, end-to-end order fulfillment, and seamless container service throughout the entire logistics process.
The pilot is an important expansion based on the existing Chongqing-Ningbo and Chongqing-Qinzhou new energy vehicle rail-sea intermodal corridors, further enhancing Liangjiang's logistics network and service efficiency.
