Dekra, a globally renowned inspection, testing, and certification organization, has announced the establishment of Dekra Chongqing Testing and Certification Co in Liangjiang New Area.
The 50 million yuan ($7.10 million) facility aims to foster collaborative development in the regional automotive industry and is slated to commence operations in the second quarter of 2026.
It will offer comprehensive testing services for electronic components and automotive parts, including environmental reliability, electrical performance, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), to establish a robust evaluation system for electrical components.
Wu Hangjun, senior vice-president of Dekra Asia Pacific, noted that the facility aims to establish a localized testing and certification system that covers the entire process from research and development to production.
Wu added that the initiative is designed to support the industry's international expansion, promote green transformation, and drive intelligent advancement.
Dekra, founded in 1925, began with a focus on vehicle inspections to ensure road safety and has since evolved into the world's largest vehicle inspection and certification body. The company operates in over 60 countries, offering services that include vehicle inspection, claims and expert evaluations, product testing and certification, industrial inspection, and auditing.
