The Chengdu-Chongqing Belt and Road International Technology Transfer Center began operations on Dec 14 in Liangjiang New Area. It aims to establish 25 international technology transfer nodes overseas and facilitate the establishment of 100 international cooperation projects by the end of 2027.
As the first center of its kind in China, it will focus on six key objectives: developing an international technology transfer network, creating a comprehensive technology transfer platform, and implementing international technology transfer projects, among others.
The center will assemble a dedicated team and refine standardized processes to ensure the feasibility, operability, and connectivity of its services. It will also explore market-driven strategies, including cross-border technology trading services, tech-financial assessments, and business consulting.
Collaborations with platforms such as the Shanghai Technology Exchange and Chongqing Academy of Science and Technology will enhance its offerings, providing comprehensive professional services such as intellectual property appraisal, technology value assessment, cross-border transaction compliance, and international standard certification.
The center comprises several key sections, including a results exhibition area, a service window area, and a country center area.
It also secured related agreements with over 10 universities, research institutes, and enterprises, including Chongqing University, the Harbin Institute of Technology Chongqing Research Institute, Seres, and the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute.
