Over 90 percent of Chongqing's aerospace information industry projects are currently based in Liangjiang New Area, as reported by local media at the Aerospace Information Industry International Ecosystem Conference 2024 in Chongqing on Sept 3.
This can be largely attributed to authorities' comprehensive industrial layout, which has been vital in attracting a significant number of projects.
Liangjiang now boasts a 20 billion yuan ($2.82 billion) investment fund to support its high-quality development, with plans to launch an aerospace information industry fund exceeding 2 billion yuan. A financing and leasing company also provides specialized consulting services for industry development.
Nearly 30 major projects have been launched in the area, including China Satellite Network Group Co, Chongqing Kingsley Aeronautical Materials Technology Co, and China Express Airlines, leading to the formation of the initial aerospace information industry cluster.
Xu Hongqiu, deputy director of the Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, said that the area will focus on expanding the Satellite Internet Industrial Park and the Aviation Industrial Park to explore low-altitude fields.
Xu added that authorities will channel more resources towards the large-scale application of satellite internet and the Beidou Navigation Satellite System. This will enhance the satellite application industries and expand the aerospace new materials industry, with titanium alloys being the primary material produced.
Efforts will also be made to improve the business environment by optimizing special policies and enriching industrial funds.
