The blueprint of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle is becoming a reality.
Chengdu XGimi Technology Co and Formovie (Chongqing) Innovative Technology Co have the largest and the third largest market shares in the smart projection field in China. The main boards and device drivers of XGimi's projectors are made by an electronic company in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, while Formovie cooperates with over 20 providers in Sichuan and Chongqing, with the value of their cooperation exceeding 30 million yuan ($4.18 million).
Since the implementation of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle initiative, the two places have accounted for 12 percent of China's total automobile output and 14 percent of the nation's electronic information product output.
Chongqing is focusing on forging a unique "33618" modern manufacturing cluster system and seeks to form three dominant industrial clusters for electronic information manufacturing, intelligent connected and new energy vehicles, and advanced materials, while Chongqing is strengthening efforts to foster its six key industrial sectors.
This year, Chengdu and Chongqing have jointly formalized a plan for the construction of a comprehensive scientific center, and the first batch of Tianfu Labs and Jinfeng Labs have begun operating.
In culture and tourism, the two regions have jointly applied to jointly build several State-level key cultural parks, and over the first five months of 2023, they achieved 1.6 trillion yuan collectively in total retail sales of consumer goods.
Remarkable results were also delivered in environmental protection and carbon neutrality through the coordinated actions of the two regions.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
