The Liangjiang New Area branch of the Chongqing Public Security Bureau recently held a news conference, during which it delivered an annual school security work report for 2022 and issued 10 policies designed to serve local schools.
These policies included boosting school-bureau communication channels, completing security infrastructure and facilities, improving traffic in areas surrounding schools, strengthening environmental governance around schools, providing security risk evaluation services for school faculty, establishing a security-related information report mechanism, assisting schools in safety drills, advancing the construction of law-based schools, and cracking down on campus crimes.
For example, the bureau will coordinate with other relevant departments to optimize the design of the traffic network in areas surrounding schools, improve transportation signs and facilities for pedestrian guidance, car parking and illegal behavior monitoring, and ensure that key regions of the school, such as the school gates and crossroads around the school, are all under video surveillance by the police.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
