The second Chongqing-Sichuan technology transfer meeting was held on June 30 in the Liangjiang Coordinative Innovation Zone of Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on June 30.
Pan Fusheng, president of the Chongqing Association for Science and Technology, Li Lin, deputy head of the Chongqing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, as well as high-ranking officials from the new area, were present at the meeting.
Pan delivered an academic report on the new generation of energy storage materials, pointing out the necessity of finding ground-breaking approaches in carbon emissions and energy structure transformation to achieve carbon neutrality and peak carbon emissions.
He said that the new generation of energy storage materials and equipment will promote the large-scale application of renewable and clean energies. Magnesium-based materials, for example, will be a frontier material with strong potential to address the resource crisis, environmental pollution and energy crisis faced globally.
Li Lin said that science and technology can become productive forces only after they are commercialized, and the Liangjiang Coordinative Innovation Zone boasts unique resources and advantages in scientific and industrial innovation.
Li Jie, deputy head of the new area’s administrative committee, said Liangjiang will consistently provide high-quality services and support for market players, scientific institutes, and innovative individuals and teams.
At the event, the Chongqing technology transfer public service platform was also launched jointly by the new area and the Chongqing Municipal Industry-University-Research Institute Promotion Association. It is designed to issue information on technological development, transfer, and consultation, and hold on-site technological promotion and application activities.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
