Chongqing's semiconductor science and technology museum in Liangjiang New Area opened on Oct 26, becoming the first of its kind in Southwest China.

The museum covers 1,300 square meters and has seven exhibition halls to showcase the global semiconductor industry's development through material technologies, process technologies, integrated circuit design and the application of artificial intelligent chips.

The museum exhibits a range of technologies, including global semiconductors, integrated circuits, microelectronics and big data intelligent technologies. It also highlights Chongqing's forward-looking research achievements in the semiconductor and integrated circuit industries.

It aims to popularize semiconductor industry knowledge and enhance Chongqing's soft power.

Currently, Liangjiang is building a whole industrial chain with chips, screens, intelligent equipment, core components for smart vehicles and the internet of things.

Liangjiang also aims to establish a cloud platform, complete its 5G network layout, establish standard management rules for government data, build an intelligent technology platform and apply smart technologies in areas such as government management, public service and social governance.

During the first three quarters of this year, Liangjiang's output value of electronics and information industry products increased 10 percent year-on-year.

Liangjiang has attracted companies related to integrated circuit design, wafer fabrication and semiconductor assembly and testing, which are critical parts of the integrated circuit industry.
